Lost Connection

Considering that we all, every being or creation, are built by the same building blocks on quantum level it would be safe to say we are all the same. If we also include that on quantum level everything, and that means everything, is connected to each other is some way or another. Adding the new insight that the species, regardless if it is, humans, animals, plants, the unseen, is the ones that collaborate that is the fittest one to thrive in the long run. Then it is fair to say that we have lost the connection to each other, to the environment and to mother Earth itself.

The must have now, greed, ego, power, as longs as I get what I want, I don’t care about nature or the ones not yet born is cherished. A shortsighted perspective that will bring us to the brink of extinction if we continue that path forward.
We are all guilty in some sense, as individuals, as workforce, as companies, as politicians, as governments and as countries. We all have a share in the chosen path. Convenience is good, I can do that later, my little part does not have any impact on the larger scale kind of thinking.
If we take the Cop 15 as an example. It was very hard to even get an agreement of the overall plan to put a side environment for the nature so it could continue to thrive. Save the environment, Cop 16 was suspended when it was time to come to an agreement regarding the funding. Suddenly it was impossible to come to a common ground. It is easy to agree on paper, even if that was really tough, it is another game to agree of who pays for what.
In a blink the consideration for nature and not least our own children was of lesser importance.
The leading word right now is continuous growth, even if we realise it might, orI say it will, lead to catastrophe. The rich ones, both countries and individuals have the money necessary but they rather have it on an account or earmarks it for part of their own country. This does not necessary mean that it will come benefit the population.
I take overfishing as an example. One problem caused by overfishing is the imbalance in the number of different species necessary to keep the chain intact. When some species is removed completely or at least is heavily diminished other species will grow in number and might destroy habitat for other species. The argument is that we need to take out the amount of fish to be able to give people a way to feed. But research, and practical examples shows that it is possible to conduct fishing in a sustainable way.
If we take a look into how much waste of produced food we have on a daily basis the above argument seems to be a tiny one. We produce an overflow of food and other goods. Our problem is not the amount of stuff, but a problem of distribution. A distribution problem can be handled easily if we decide to do it. It is more of the will from those that have to share with them that has very little or nothing.
A good starting point for change is to consider what we want to leave to our children and to their children. If we want them to have a good future we need to consider what we are willing to relinquish. This is not what I want to leave for my children and coming grandchildren.

A source of inspiration can be found in a text written by Mac Macartney - The Children’s Fire.
I will come back with more sources of inspiration.
We are all the same. We are all connected. We grow by collaboration.
